Service review
I want to say a big thank you to the E-zec Dorset crews that I observed, over two days, as they transported patients being discharged from UHD. I felt privileged to witness the calm kindness shown to mainly frail, unwell, older patients and their families. The crews often added gentle humour to lift the mood when the situation itself was emotionally or physically difficult.
I observed them deal competently with a wide range of mobility and access issues, while also considering the patient’s and family’s dignity. They had to adapt flexibly to unpredictable and sometimes demanding situations both in hospitals and back at the patient’s home. My experiences over time have led me to conclude that E-zec crews and their supporting patient-transport-liaison and office staff are really ‘unsung heroes’ working tirelessly for NHS patients.
A team that every day goes the extra mile.
