Herefordshire and Worcestershire
As well as managing the recent COVID-19 outbreak, E-zec has been mobilising the recently awarded Herefordshire and Worcestershire contract which went live on 1st April 2020.
Whilst very well prepared for 1st April, the last few weeks of the mobilisation have been extremely challenging. However, due to the dedication and pre-planning of the E-zec mobilisation team, the contract has been delivered on time.
E-zec had operated the patient transport contract for the NHS Herefordshire CCG element of the contract for over 5 years, which was re-awarded with the addition of NHS Redditch & Bromsgrove CCG, NHS South Worcestershire CCG and NHS Wyre Forest CCG. This mobilisation is a fantastic milestone for E-zec as it creates an unbroken contract link between Dorset and North Staffordshire.
The mobilisation for this service consisted of 50 plus new vehicles, including specialist bariatric ambulances. Over 60 new employees have also been recruited, trained and deployed to work alongside the existing Herefordshire team. These staff will operate from 5 bases across the region, 4 of which are additional to E-zec’s current operating locations. E-zec now delivers patient transport services from over 40 hubs across the UK.
We would like to thank the NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire commissioners, who have worked in partnership with E-zec during the past 4 months to make the mobilisation a success. We look forward to building on this relationship and working alongside them during the life of this contract and beyond.
